Day 1 – Depart US
We depart the US for an overnight flight to Israel. Dinner and breakfast will be served.
Day 2 – Arrive Jerusalem
Upon arrival in Jerusalem we are met by Triumph Tours representatives and are transferred to Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 – Jerusalem/Old City/Mt. of Olives
Today we see the OLD CITY. Enter the Old City through the EASTERN GATE and begin a walking tour which takes us through St. Stephen’s Gate to the POOL OF BETHESDA and ST. ANNE’S CHURCH. Continue to the Temple area of MT. MORIAH. Visit the DOME OF THE ROCK (entry to the Mosque is not permitted). Visit the WESTERN WALL and the RABBI’S TUNNEL. Walk through the Old City bazaars to the CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHER. View the TOWER OF DAVID, the CITADEL and KING DAVID’S TOMB. Visit the JEWISH QUARTER before we leave the Old City through JAFFA GATE. We visit MT. ZION and the UPPER ROOM. Our next stop will be the GARDEN TOMB and GOLGOTHA, PLACE OF THE SKULL, where a worship service is possible. Our evening ends with a visit to the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE and a trip to the MT. OF OLIVES for a spectacular view of the city. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4 – Judea/ Gibeah/ Michmash
Today we concentrate on the territory of Benjamin Our field tour focuses on the central part of the country in the tribal allotments of Benjamin. The ancient city of GIBEAH was situated at an elevation of 2,754 feet in the Hill Country of JUDEA. Located just north of Jerusalem and higher than the Mount of Olives, its position provided a panoramic view of the entire central region of the Land, including the strategic Central Benjamite. Visit the area of MICHMASH Plain. Return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 - Sorek/ Ayalon Valley/ Beit Shemesh/ Lachish/ Valley of Elah
Journey into the Old Testament today as you first visit the VALLEY OF AYALON, where the sun stood still as Joshua defeated the Amorites. See the SOREK VALLEY, home of Samson and Delilah. Remember David's victory over Goliath in the VALLEY OF ELAH. Visit the ancient remains of BEIT SHEMESH, where the Philistines returned the Ark of the Covenant. Continue to the ancient city of LACHISH, one of Solomon's chariot cities and important city to the defense of Judah. Lachish is mentioned in the Tel el Amarna Letters as one of the cities defeated by Sennacherib. Conclude your day by recalling Christ's appearance to two of his disciples on the road to EMMAUS there. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6- Jerusalem/ Bethlehem/ Shepherd’s Fields
This morning visit and be touched at the YAD VASHEM Holocaust Memorial. Visit the KNESSET, Israel's Parliament as you continue. Afternoon will be spent in BETHLEHEM, SHEPHERD’S FIELD, and FIELDS OF RUTH AND BOAZ. Visit the CHURCH OF NATIVITY and the CHURCH OF VISITATION. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 – Masada/ Dead Sea/ Ein Gedi/ Qumran
This morning we will ascend and visit Masada, Herod's mountaintop fortress which became the last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore. Peer down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp. There will be some time for a swim in the DEAD SEA. Journey to EIN GEDI and visit the nature preserve and waterfall where David hid from Saul. Proceed to QUMRAN to view the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and the area which was inhabited by the mysterious community of the Essenes. Begin your ascent to Jerusalem by viewing WADI QELT and the ST. GEORGE MONASTERY. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8 - Jerusalem
Free Day. Enjoy a day of leisure for shopping and sight-seeing. Return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9 – Caesarea/ Megiddo/ Mt. Carmel/Nazareth/Cana
After breakfast, we begin our journey northward by motor coach along the Mediterranean Sea to CAESAREA. This ancient city was built in honor of Caesar by Herod the Great, and was the capital of the Romans in the Holy Land for nearly 500 years. See the Crusader City and the fantastic aqueduct before continuing to Haifa, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We will drive to the crest of MT. CARMEL, through the JEZREEL VALLEY and arrive at the site of MEGIDDO, one of King Solomon’s “chariot cities”, and, according to scripture, the location for the last battle in history. See GIDEON’S BROOK, the “WELL OF HEROD”, and continue on to Cana and into NAZARETH, Jesus’ boyhood home, where you will visit the CHURCH OF ANNUNCIATION. Then, we continue onto TIBERIAS for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10 – Tiberias/ Mt. of Beatitudes/ Tabgah/ Capernaum/ Jordan River
There is nothing quite like witnessing a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee. Although there are many places which we must admit are traditional, you can be sure that the Lord Jesus walked down these shores. After a sunrise service and breakfast, visit the MOUNT OF BEATITUDES, traditional site of the Sermon on the MOUNT; TABGHA, the Chapel dedicated to the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. Continue on to the ruins at CAPERNAUM, then the SYNAGOGUE AND THE HOUSE OF SIMON PETER. Cross the Sea of Galilee by motorboat. We end the day with a stop at the JORDAN RIVER, where a baptismal service is possible. We end the day with a traditional St Peter’s fish dinner along the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Return to our hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 11 – Golan Heights/ Caesarea Philippi/ Mt. Hermon
Today we head as north as we can possibly reach. We travel to the GOLAN HEIGHTS, where Israel, Lebanon, and Syria come together. Enter CAESAREA PHILIPPI. See NIMROD’S CASTLE, as well as the latest developments in the Golan. Visit Mt. Hermon the probable site of the Transfiguration. View the most northern borders of Israel. Return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 12 – Acre/ Mt. Tabor/ Deboria/ Beit Shean
Today we spend the day along the northern shores of the Mediterranean. Visit ACRE. The walls of the city, its fortresses and citadels, its churches and mosques, tell the history of the many rulers who governed it and fought for it, who built the city and glorified it. Visit MT. TABOR. Visit Deboria, the home town of the prophetess – Deborah. And see the recent excavations in BEIT SHEAN. Return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 13 – Free Day in Tiberias
Free Day. Your last full day in Israel will be free for independent activities such as shopping and sightseeing. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at our hotel.
Day 14 – Return to North America
We depart Tel Aviv for our flight back home.
