11 Day Holy Land and Athens

DAY 01: USA / TEL AVIV.

We depart North America on our overnight flight to Tel Aviv. Dinner and breakfast will be served aloft. flight.

DAY 02: Athens

Upon our arrival at the Athens airport we will be met by Triumph Tours representative and taken on a half day tour of Athens. Our sightseeing includes the Stadium and Temple of Zeus, Theatre of Dionysus and the Hill of Muses where we can enjoy a panoramic view of Athens and the Acropolis. We visit Mars Hill, where Paul addressed the citizens of Athens, and the monuments of the Acropolis - including the Parthenon, the Agora (marketplace) and Socrates' Prison..eturn to the Athens airport for our early morning flight to Tel Aviv.

We the transfer to Athens airport for a short flight to Tel Aviv.

Upon our arrival at the Tel Aviv airport we will be met by Triumph Tours representatives who will assist us to our waiting bus for a short transfer to our hotel along the Mediterranean for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 03: HERZLIA / GALILEE.

After breakfast we begin our journey of the Holy Land as we trace the footsteps of Jesus. We begin with a drive along the shores of the Mediterranean to Caesarea. This ancient city was built in honor of Caesar by Herod the Great, and was the capital of the Romans in the Holy Land for nearly 500 years. See the Crusader City its fantastic aqueduct, and the amphitheatre. We continue on to Haifa through the Jezreel Valley. Stop at Megiddo and the fields of Armageddon. Megiddo is one of King Solomon’s “chariot cities”, and, according to scripture, the location for the last battle in history. See Gideon’s brook, and the “Well of Herod

Drive to the crest of Mt. Carmel - where Elijah's contest with the prophets of Baal. We continue east across the Galilee region to view Mt. Tabor and visit Deboriya, the hometown of the prophetess Deborah located at the foothill of Mt. Tabor. We reach Tiberias and transfer to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay along the picturesque Sea of Galilee.

DAY 04: CAPERNAUM / CAESAREA PHILLIPI / MT. HERMON / GOLAN HEIGHTS.

There is nothing quite like witnessing a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee. Although there are many places which we must admit are traditional, you can be sure that the Lord Jesus walked down these shores. After a sunrise service and breakfast,

we cross the Sea of Galilee by boat to Capernaum to visit the ancient ruins of the synagogue where Jesus preached We continue to the Mt. of Beatitudes the traditional site for the “Sermon on the Mount" and to Tabgha - the chapel dedicated to the multiplication of the loaves and fishes . Drives to Caesarea Philippi the site of Peter’s confession; continue to Mt. Hermon and Golan Heights where Israel share a border with Lebanon and Syria. On our way back we stop at the Jordan River where an optional Baptismal Service is possible. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 05: NAZARETH / JERICHO / JERUSALEM. With an early morning departure to Cana and to Nazareth, the hometown of Jesus, we visit the Church of the Annunciation and Mary's Fountain We continue to Bethshean, to see the most recent excavations from the Roman Era. We then head south through the Jordan Valley to ancient Jericho where the walls came tumbling down. Enjoy a view of the Mt. of Temptation and see Elisha's Fountain. As we drive through the Judean country our hearts filled with elation in anticipation of entering Jerusalem. We transfer to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 06: JERUSALEM.

We have reached the “highlight of our tour”. We begin the day with a drive to Mt. Scopus and the Mt. of Olives for the most spectacular panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem. We visit the Chapel of the Ascension, the Church of Pater Noster and the Dominus Flevit. Walk along Hosanna Road to the Garden of Gethsemane to visit the Church of All Nations that stands on the Rock of Agony where Jesus was betrayed by Judas. See the Pillar of Absalom, the Eastern (Golden) Gate and the Pinnacle of the Temple. We then drive to Mt. Zion where we visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu on the site of Caiaphas' House, the Upper Room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb. We continue with a tour New Jerusalem: Visit Hebrew University, the Shrine of the Book that houses the Dead Sea Scrolls, visit Yad Vashem – a memorial built for six million lives that perished during the Holocaust, see the Model City of Jerusalem which is a miniature model of the Old City during the time of the Holy Temple. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 07: MASADA / DEAD SEA / QUMRAN.

Today we head further south 1300ft under sea level to the Dead Sea. A beautiful new road takes us south along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend the mountain by cable car and see the magnificent ruins of the fortress where from 70-73 A.D Jewish zealots made the last stand against Romans. Return along the Dead Sea to Qumran the place where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Visit the remains of the Community Center of the Essenes and the Caves of the Scrolls. Drive the Jericho Road to the Inn of the Good Samaritan, then return to Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 08: JERUSALEM / BETHLEHEM.

Today begins with a walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. We begin at the Western Wall where Jews flock from around the world to pray. We continue to the Temple Area of Mt. Moriah. Visit the El Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock built on the ancient site of Solomon's Temple and over the Rock of Sacrifice where Abraham offered Isaac and the ceremonial sacrifice of animals took place. After this we walk along the Via Dolorosa to Pilate's Judgment Hall, the Chapel of the Flagellation, the Ecce Homo Arch where Jesus was tried before Pilate. We then continue through the Old City bazaars to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit the Garden Tomb and Golgotha - Place of the Skull - for a worship service. This afternoon continue our tour to Bethlehem. We visit the Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus, and Shepherds Fields and the Field of Boaz and Ruth. We return to Jerusalem through Rachel's Tomb for dinner and overnight .

DAY 09:

Today we spend the day at leisure in the Holy City of Jerusalem. You will have the opportunity to revisit favorite sites, go back to the local markets for some shopping or just lounge in the local cafes. Dinner and overnight stay will be in our hotel in Jerusalem.


Day 10 Athens

After breakfast we take our flight to Athens where again we will be met by our staff.

This After g after breakfast, we will return to the Tel Aviv Airport for our AfterAft We begin our tour by visiting the 11th Century Church built during the Byzantine Era. We cross the Corinthian Canal. We see the Isthmus and continue to modern Corinth and the ruins of an ancient city where Paul worked. Visit the first century shops, Fountain of Peirene, the Temple of Apollo and the Bema Seat. This ancient city was once a bustling metropolis. Return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11 Return

After breakfast and a brief final tour of the city we transfer to the airport for our final flight home.
